This week, we’re exploring how common interests can strengthen bonds across generations. Whether it’s trying something new or diving deeper into a shared passion, these activities can foster understanding and bring us closer together.
Here are some ways to participate:
Collaborative Skill Swap
Instead of just teaching hobbies, this week is about truly collaborating to create or accomplish something together. Whether it's solving a puzzle, working on a DIY project, or tackling a challenging recipe, focus on teamwork.
Example: “My uncle and I worked on fixing an old bike together. He shared his mechanical expertise while I added some creative touches. It was such a fun experience!”
Share your collaborative moments with us in the comments.
Generational Game Time
Bring different generations together through games—board games, card games, or even modern video games. Play together, share laughter, and learn each other's strategies.
Example: “My nephew taught me how to play a new video game, and in return, I introduced him to chess. Both of us had a blast!”
Tell us about the games that brought your family or friends together.
Discover a Shared Curiosity
Dive into a topic or interest that excites you both, even if it’s new to one of you! It could be learning about a historical event, exploring new technology, or researching a shared family history.
Example: “My grandfather and I explored our family tree online—we uncovered amazing stories and photos we didn’t even know existed!”
Share what you discovered and how it brought you closer in the comments below.

Classic card and board games such as Uno are simple and fun games that our whole family can get involved in! Its a competitive activity so we tend to avoid games such as monopoly. I have wonderful memories of my grandparents teaching me solo puzzles and games including sudoku and solitaire 😀
